Just some thoughts that stick in my mind of pops

There are so many memories to look back on and think about, but there are just a few that stick out in my mind that make me smile and laugh.
One of them was when we had the garden shed and me and dad were told to make a decorative edging for the front of it, so we planned it out and pops got his electric saw out. He started sawing not noticing that he left the door to the house open so as he started sawing he was creating fumes and smoke so all of that travelled into the house. I woke up the next day and found out that the budgie we had at the time Charlie had died so we ganged up on dad and said you fumigated the budgie.

The next memories I have of pops is pillar boxes he used to drive us mad saying isn't that a nice box or what type of box is this claire and getting us to take pictures of him by them #embarrassing .

another stick out memory i have is when i dislocated my dads finger because i wouldnt do as i was told so he smacked my arm and as he did that his finger hit the door handle instead and bent right back.

A few weeks ago I went through his folder of the things that were sentimental to him we used to call it his rubbish folder as soon as I opened it what was there straight in front of me non other than a robin christmas card. As most of you know i absolutely love Robins. So I went through it and I was seeing all these cards and also sorry notes I wrote to him as a child telling him how so so sorry i was for dislocating his finger and things like that  . It made me giggle and yes it also made me cry happy tears of course.

You certainly taught me alot pops for instance CPR  if it wasn't for you teaching me this, on that day I don't think I would of known what to do but because of this I got to spend 6/7 more precious years with you so from the bottom of my heart thank you so much for teaching me those skills.

I shall end on saying I found a birthday card that pops kept that was from me.
And these are the words which sum you up pops.

There is a place inside my heart where you will always be, for each day I'm reminded, pops How much you mean to me. And though it's often left unsaid I'd like to let you know that no one else could take your place because I love you so. Along the winding path of life you clearly led the way the lessons you have taught me make me who I am today.

Love you so much pops you will never be forgotten you can now rest in perfect peace
